BluffUp uses anonymous authentication — you get a random ID behind the scenes, pick a nickname, optionally add a lobby selfie, and start playing. No email. No password. No social login. No public profile. Lobby photos and player-written game text (answers, guesses, statements, votes) stay in your room session, not on a permanent public feed. In Undercover, secret topics and spy roles are shown only to the right players during the round. We filter offensive language, and you can report or block players who cross the line.

Is BluffUp free?
Yes. Seven of the eleven game modes and all seven content packs are free, with unlimited games. Premium Host (one-time) unlocks four premium modes, bigger rooms (up to 30 players), reactions shared with the room, and 150 AI Credits.
What game modes are there?
Four game types, eleven modes. Bluff Answers: write fakes and vote — Classic (+500/+1000 scoring), Funniest Wins (player fakes only on the ballot), or 3 Fakes 1 Truth (Premium — one faker writes three lies; hunters vote for the truth). Number Guess: guess a number with no voting — Closest Wins, Within ±15% with a once-per-game Double Down token, or Challenge Guess (Premium — one player dares the table with a live numeric stunt). Truth or Lie: call a statement true or false — Classic from the catalog, or Hot Seat (Premium — a player writes their own statement and the room interrogates them before voting). Undercover: social deduction with a shared prompt — Classic (free — discuss then vote), Silent (free — vote right after answers), or Chaos (Premium — Classic plus a random twist each round). Premium badges mark modes included with Premium Host.
Do my friends need to pay?
No. Only the host can buy Premium. Everyone joining your room plays free.
Do I need an account?
No signup, no email, no social login. Open the app, pick a nickname, and tap Matchmaking or join a room.
How many players?
Matchmaking lobbies hold up to 8 players. Private free rooms support up to 10. Premium hosts can invite up to 30.
What devices are supported?
The host needs the free iPhone or iPad app. Everyone else can join straight from a browser on any phone, tablet, or laptop — Android included — with no install and no account.
How do I join a friend's game?
Easiest way: the host shares a link from the lobby and you play right in your browser — nothing to install. You can also open the app and enter their 6-character room code or scan their QR code. Deep links like partybluff://join?code=XXXXXX work too. No friends online? Use Matchmaking on the welcome screen instead.
What is Matchmaking?
Tap Matchmaking on the welcome screen when you want to play with strangers. Pick game type, variant, and nickname, then tap Find a game — BluffUp finds or creates a public lobby in your language (up to 8 players). You land in the same lobby flow as a private room: ready up and play.
Is there a subscription?
No subscriptions, ever. One-time purchases only — buy what you want and keep it forever.
Are there ads?
No ads during gameplay.
What are reactions?
After each round you can react to a question — funny, surprising, or weak. On the free plan your reactions quietly help us tune which questions show up. With a Premium host, reactions are shared live with the whole room so everyone sees the group's verdict.
What languages are supported?
English and Ukrainian for in-game questions. More UI languages may come later.
How is this different from trivia apps?
Trivia rewards facts. BluffUp rewards creativity — you write fake answers and try to fool your friends.
Can I make custom questions?
Yes. Spend AI Credits (1 credit = 1 question, up to 50 per pack) on a private pack of inside jokes. Hot Seat lets players write their own statements live. Challenge Guess lets a player dare the table with a custom numeric challenge each round.
What data do you collect?
An anonymous ID, your nickname, and the game content in your room. No email or real name. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do you handle player-written content?
BluffUp has zero tolerance for abusive behavior. Offensive language is filtered in nicknames and answers. You can report questions, answers, or players, and block someone to hide their content immediately. We review reports within 24 hours.
